DING 2020: "He was the fourth son of Job Lousley, the author of A Glossary of Provincial Words Used in Berkshire (1852). Together with some of his brothers he changed the spelling of their surname so that it conformed to the earliest form they could trace in their family history. He was a military man, serving in Barbados (1862-1872) and Ceylon (1872-1882). He was also interested in numismatics.
