DING 2015: "The poem appeared in Thomas Davies’ Common-place book, written between the years 1618 and 1630, Lansdowne MS 674. The dates are those given in the British Library Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue. When the poem was published in1832, the editor, probably Edward Wedlake Brayley, dated the Common-place book as written between 1614 and 1648. It was also printed in James Orchard Halliwell Phillips' A Collection of Pieces in the Dialect of Zummerze (1843).”
