DING 2015: “Florence Nightinghale's sister. Together with her husband's daughter-in-law she edited the Verney's Family Papers. She wrote short stories and novels in which she attempted to represent the speech of Derbyshire and Hampshire. She had gained knowledge of both dialects during her stays at Lea Hurst, the family home in Derbyshire, and Embley House, her father's estate in Hampshire.”
