DING 2014: "Born at Truro, Cor., where he was educated. He began writing poetry at an early age. He registered at Oxford University but never graduated. He became a curate and fulfilled his ministry at Lamorran, Cor. and then in Devonshire, at Kenton, Exmouth and Manaccan . In 1806 he returned to Cornwall. In 1821 he was appointed Vicar of Newlyn East, Cor. He wrote The History of Cornwall (1808, in 7 vols.) and The History of Devonshire (1793-1806, in 3 vols.) His Cornish-English Vocabulary was  vol. vi of the first.  There was a second revised edition in 1836."
