DING 2012: “Born in Richmond, Yks, he was rector of the parish church of Offenham and from 1864 to 1895 of  St. Peter and St. Paul Parish Church in Upton upon Severn. His wife, Emily Margaret (née Malcom), published The Nation in the Parish in 1868. A second edition appeared in 1884 which included Rev. Lawson’s “Upton on the Severn Words and Phrases” as an appendix. This collection was also published that same year by the English Dialect Society.”
